United for the Northwest – Letter To My Fellow Candidates

Ai elletin tirow me kapongen tong me tipiew ngeni ami fellow Northwest congressional candidates Aichem, Konno, Refilong, me Romolow. Killisou ren ukukun tongen Northwest ina mine pwal no letipemi iei sa sa ngeni ei wisen naun aramah rhon akkuno me lon FSM Congress. I know that we all have stepped into this important public service because we all have deep love for our people and visions on how best to help our region and our nation.

I deeply respect all of you for stepping forward. It is in this spirit of love and unity for our people that I humbly invite you all to join me at all of my community meetings (http://www.vid.raatior.com/participate/) with the Northwest people to present to them our respective platforms, answer people’s questions, listen to our people’s ideas, and to discuss with each other and our beloved people how best to move our region forward in unity. I believe that we all have a responsibility to model the humility it takes to listen intently, respect each other deeply, and project leadership that unites rather than divides our people.

Politics has already negatively impacted our people, our families, our clans, our churches, our islands. We must return to the spirit of peace and unity our people enjoyed before the American form of government destroyed our indigenous spirit. I believe one step forward is to courageously work together to meet with our people in campaign as well as after March 5, 2019.

I don’t want to force you to do anything, but I do want to extend to you all an olive branch of peace and invite you all to work together now and after the elections. To whoever wins, I humbly suggest we all accompany him to the region to rebuild our people’s sense of unity. I can only promise and assure you that I will do that if I have the honor to serve our people. I hope you join me not only in a tour of peace after the elections to visit all of our Northwest islands for ceremonies of achesefal.

If, God willing, I get the honor of serving our region, I want to invite you to join me as members of a Northwest Advisory Council to help lead our Northwest. With you and other sons and daughters of Northwest who are experts on various aspect of our region’s needs in education, development, cultural preservation, and regional unity, we will TOGETHER help our people. I invite all of you to bring your area of expertise, your ideas, your passion for service so that together with others we will build a prosperous Northwest especially as we head into 2023. Whether I win or lose this election, I promise each of you that I will be available to work with the winner if you want my help in any way particularly in educational reform efforts and the other areas I consider priorities for our region
